Evangelion Stamp by MochaKitsune Evangelion Stamp by MochaKitsune
Don't think this is a stamp bashing NGE; it's not. I loved the series. I think that Eva is something that means different things to different people, but I didn't find it hard to understand. I thought it was still thought-provoking though, and I wonder what exactly the creator thought of when he made it. Still, you have people debating and giving themselves headaches over the "complexity" of Eva, and I don't see why.

My mom says something is wrong with me in the head for getting Eva. :/

I don't know what happened with the background. XD

Evangelion is a metaphor for what the director, Hideaki Anno, went through while suffering from clinical depression. It also contains a lot of biblical themes and deconstructs the giant mecha genre towards the end of the anime.
It gets confusing towards the end because of a budget issue, and they were trying to finish the show as cheaply as they could. The final two episodes also took place in Shinji's mind, so they could afford to get a bit weird.

That's why Rebuild of Evangelion is amazing, because it's what Gainex can do on a really good budget, and the animation and 3D modeling work is freaking awesome.

Well, I understand the movies... gusse thats why I enjoy them so much more than the cartoon: more action and character development in far less time with far less flashbacks and characters laying about being emo.

And I thought me and my bf are the only ones, who understood it. xD
I`m happy to see that we are not the only ones! :D
Thought I must say that my brain felt kinda...destroyed after watching it. But it`s because the anime itself has a VERY DEEP meaning and it`s actually hard to describe it in simple words.
I can`t tell WHY or HOW I understand Evangelion.
I just feel emotionally unstable after seeing it and I guess it`s enough to say that I understand meaning of this anime.
And of course I also think that it`s classical...Because IT IS classical.

(wow, I din`t know I could write such long-ass comment ^^; sorry)

I'm a big EVA fan, and the series itself could have different meaning for people or other ones just don't understand.
But I actually understanded EoE...but still only my opinion.
If I'm not wrong, the End was made to make different opinions.

My friend and I just finished watching the remakes that are out (1.11 and 2.22). We totally got the original season but we currently think that 1.11 and 2.22 are secret sequels instead of a remake.

Its a gift from above! I understand whats going on! (My parents however, do not...lets just say when we talk about EVA, they call ritsku "The Blonde", Misato "The comander" or "The big busted one", etc)

Well I guess I "got" Evangelion. I didn't watch/read it to find those "deep inter meanings" everyone gets migraines over. I watched it looking for another great giant robot show. And that's what I got! >w<

It's weird for me because I watched Evangelion from the episodes with Kaworu *and it was like....at least three...four...years ago? >w<* and...it's hard for me to say if I understand it or not. >w< I remember that I was very PUZZLED on the things going on. xDD

I'll probably watch the whole entire series sooner or later, it felt like a good anime~
